Simply Elope: Policies & Terms
We keep things simple, clear, and personal. Below is everything you need to know about booking a ceremony with us. No fine print & no surprises.

Guest Limit
-
This limit is firm because our style is intimate and unamplified. Most couples choose to have guests gather closely around, whether standing or seated in chairs, so that everyone feels connected and hears every word.
-
If you know before your final payment that your guest list will exceed 25, just let us know. We will cancel the ceremony and follow the cancellation policy below.
-
If we arrive and find more than 25 guests, no ceremony will happen that day. You may reschedule (with the guest count fixed) or cancel. Rescheduling fees below apply if you are less than 3 days out.
Ceremony Days
-
Ceremonies are performed on weekends.
-
Weekday ceremonies may be possible for an additional fee; please inquire.
Payment Terms
*Deposit
50% due at signing. Your date is not confirmed until your deposit clears. Mailing a check does not hold your date. Only cleared funds do. Refundability depends on package. See the Cancellation section.
*Final Balance
Remaining balance due 7 days before your ceremony. No exceptions.
*Pay Now Page
Use the Pay Now page for credit card, debit card, Apple Pay, or PayPal. A processing fee applies. The fee schedule is shown on the Pay Now page.
*Waive the Fee
If you pay your total balance in full at the time of booking, the processing fee is waived.
*Paying by Check
Cashier's checks and personal checks are accepted with no fee. Contact me for mailing address. If paying final balance by check, the check must clear by the 7 day deadline. Mail it at least 10 business days before the due date. If it does not clear by the due date, your payment is late and the late fee applies. Use the Pay Now page or a cashier's check to avoid delay.
*Late Payments
-
$50 late fee if payment is late.
-
If full balance plus fee not received within 3 days of due date, contract void and ceremony canceled without refund.
*Cancellation & Refund
-
The Sprout package:
-
Cancel at least 7 days before your ceremony, and you will be 100% refunded.
-
Cancel less than 7 days before and the deposit is non refundable. Any payments you made beyond the deposit will be refunded.
-
-
The Blossom, The Enchanted Grove, and The Evergreen packages: The 50% deposit is non refundable because custom script writing begins as soon as you book. Any final payments you made beyond the deposit will be refunded if you cancel before the final balance due date (7 days before the ceremony).
-
If I cancel: If I have to cancel for any reason other than your breach of this agreement, you receive a full refund including your deposit.
-
In cases of documented medical emergency or death in immediate family, I will work with you to reschedule without fee or provide a partial refund at my discretion.
Travel Mileage
-
Travel is free within 20 miles of the Prescott Valley Public Library. For longer distances, a flat fee applies. I will include it in your quote.
Last Minute Bookings (less than 14 days before ceremony)
Only The Sprout package is available. Full payment due at signing. The 7 day rule does not apply.
Weather & Unsafe Conditions
-
If your ceremony is outdoors, you will choose a backup location when you book.
-
If bad weather is expected, we will move to that backup location.
-
If you prefer to reschedule instead of moving, see the Rescheduling section.
-
No refunds for weather related cancellations.
-
-
If you want to stay outdoors in the rain, that is fine as long as my paperwork (ceremony script and marriage license) stays dry and I can read the script.
-
If conditions become unsafe (lightning, high winds, flash floods, extreme heat or cold, dangerous terrain), I will decide whether to postpone or move to our agreed backup location.
Rescheduling (any reason – weather, guest count, life happens)
-
You may reschedule your ceremony to a new date. The following fees apply:
-
First reschedule: No charge if you request it before the final balance due date (7 days before your ceremony). This is a one time courtesy and subject to the Officiant's schedule.
-
Any additional reschedule, or any reschedule requested on or after the final balance due date: $50 fee.
-
-
Any reschedule requested less than 3 days before your ceremony: $100 fee.
-
Fees must be paid before the new date is confirmed.
Late Start
No refund for delays. If you start 30 or more minutes late, I may at my discretion do one of the following:
-
Perform a short civil ceremony.
-
Require rescheduling (see Rescheduling section).
-
Perform the full ceremony with overtime fees applying, if Officiant's time permits.
Overtime
-
$50 for each 30 minute block (rounded up). Due before signing the license.
Vendors
-
You coordinate all other vendors (photographer, musician, etc.). I work only with you.
Drones
-
No drones during the ceremony unless I agree in writing. If allowed, they must not interfere.
Ceremony Scripts
-
The ceremony script I write for you is for your personal use during your ceremony with me as your officiant. If you are paid in full and no refunds have been given, I may allow you to use the script with another officiant. Please ask first.
Photos & Videos
-
You give me permission to use photos and videos from your ceremony on my website or social media for promotion.
-
You may also use any photos or videos that include me for your own respectful purposes. If you want me to remove a photo from my website or social media, just ask within 30 days and I will take it down.
Liability
I am not responsible for damages I did not directly cause. I am also not responsible if I cannot perform the ceremony due to illness, accident, natural disaster, or other unforeseen events. I will always try to notify you as soon as possible if something like this happens.
Changes or Cancellation by You
If you make a material change to the agreement without my approval, I may charge reasonable additional fees or cancel. Any refund will follow the rules in the Cancellation & Refund section above.
Non Discrimination
I serve everyone equally regardless of race, religion, age, gender, ancestry, disability, status, political beliefs, or sexual orientation.
What Makes the Contract Valid
Your date is not held and your booking is not final until you sign the agreement and your deposit has been paid and cleared.
Signing
I will email you a simple agreement that outlines your specific ceremony details and package. You will read this policy page and that agreement, then sign electronically through a link I provide in that email.
